Having little agency both technologically and politically, jiawen seeks for possibilities in internet cracks for queering the given identity of a user, her wish is to be an analogkäse in the digital figuration and drip sizzling fat on the cables and ports.

Apart from that, jiawen's research addresses technology as memory and desire, with contaminated history but is presented pure, sterilized, decontextualized and dehistoricized, operating through scaling and reducing rather than relating. jiawen looks into infrastructures, materiality, politics and imaginaries of technology, which they also cares a lot about. Her work counter-narrates (if not intervenes) the stable, linear-developing imaginary of technology established by big techs.
